From the Steering Board Committee
My reflections on our Steering Board meeting in The Hague 11 April 2017.
René, Ewald, Connie and myself meet monthly to discuss the Oil & Gas Reinvented Community. This time, we were joined by Jeroen Penris of Siemens to evaluate Big Data which we organized on 30 March 2016. Let me share some of the points we have discussed:
EVALUATING BIG DATA
Overall, you have let us know that you liked the afternoon and the evening session. To refresh your memories, the working groups held their meetings during the afternoon session. The Young Professionals were introduced to a new challenge, which was put together with ABN AMRO and PWC. Each team within this working group will present their first plan during the next Oil & Gas Reinvented Community event on 29 June 2017 in The Hague. Head over to the website to read about Young Professionals’ challenge, “The Energy Transition: From Cost to Investment Opportunity”. I, for one, am very excited to hear what they have come up with which could help accelerate the energy transition!
The evening session gave the floor to companies who introduced their innovations and progress in future Big Data applications, it also introduced a panel discussion on Big Data. Finally, we ended the evening with a walking dinner where the participants discussed the presentations they had heard through the day and shared their ideas on the subject.
EMPOWERING INNOVATION
At our meeting, we also discussed the importance of our working groups, and how you, the members of these groups can get the most out of them. To achieve exactly that, we are reaching out to other Oil & Gas operators and other related organizations to get on board and present business cases for our working groups to crack! I would be happy to receive your suggestions on this as well.
Last on our agenda was the upcoming event on 29 June 2017, The Future Perspective of Energy Storage and Conversion. We will share more on this with you shortly. Meanwhile, keep an eye out on your email, website and LinkedIn for the save the date.
