With the presentation on January 18th of the annual programme for 2019 - which has the theme “Embracing the energy transition” - it was announced that EBN has joined OGRC as the fourth contributing partner of the community, in that capacity joining the three founding fathers Siemens, Shell and TNO.
Individual EBN staff was already active in some of the working groups. This move perfectly fits EBN’s strategy which focusses on three pillars: producing Our Dutch Gas in a responsible manner, taking a leading role in re-use and decommissioning by Return to Nature the sites where we have stopped production and finally, supporting the energy transition by exploring new roles in New Energies. Hence the working groups on Offshore Energy, CCS, Geothermal Energy and Community Engagement are of particular interest to EBN – notwithstanding the importance of the other groups - and this is where EBN can most clearly add value to the community.
