SYSTEM INTEGRATION: GAS MEETS GEOTHERMAL

The third and final event of 2018 was held at Shell Technology Center Amsterdam on November 8th. Within our ‘System Integration’ theme of this year we focused during this event on Geothermal energy.
Over 160 participants joined the event and discussed the potential value of system integration in ‘Geothermal meets Gas’. Last year we started with a small working group for Geothermal, now we had almost half of the attendents with a special interest in geothermal.
In the plenary evening keynotes and panel reflections, we have seen and listened to presentations from highly professional companies and speakers in this space: EBN, Vermillion and Halliburton gave valuable insights in where the policies and business are going. In the panel Friesland-Campina shared their views from a users’ perpective and the Platform for Geothermal energy and EBN reflected upon the near future for this renewable energy source. All in all we have enjoyed a deep dive into the subject following an excellent network dinner and ending with further networking opportunities over drinks and bites.
In addition to the general theme of the day, our regular working group meetings were held in the afternoon on Geothermal and CCUS, Offshore Energy, Digitization and the Young Professionals testing a new serious industry CO2-game developed by the Institute of Sustainable Process Industry.
